Dr. J. Michael Heider, D.D.S., noted at a young age how his hometown dentist in Dayton, Ohio was able to make a strong positive impact on the local community. Through his careful blend of artistry, science, technology and personal care, this outwardly ordinary man ensued improved the confidence, personality and happiness of others on a daily basis.

Later Dr. Heider realized his life focus would be, like his hometown dentist, helping others. He also began recognizing his same passion for health sciences. Yet as the son of a metallurgist and a cosmetologist, a desired mix of technology and artistry were also instilled in his personality. These ideals and traits would later lead him to earn his Degree of Dental Science at Ohio State University, and complete his residency at Miami Children's Hospital.

In 1981 Dr. J. Michael Heider began offering the opportunity to improve ones self image, and personality through dentistry. As the practice grew, the need for a larger building became evident, and Dr. Heider, the perfectionist he is, knew there was only one way to acheive his vision of a state-of-the-art center with a non-clinical setting. He enrolled in architecture courses and would later design his current home, Ultimate Smile™ Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Heider has earned a distinctive reputation for his dedication and commitment to transforming smiles and influencing personalities, using advanced cosmetic dentistry techniques and medical equipment. His reputation is further heightened by his volunteer work with the Red Cross Disaster Services, the American Cancer Society, local community groups, and teaching at a General Practice Residency, for a local hospital.
